■ Application Period

Starts April 26, 2024
Ends August 30, 2024

■ Date of the exam:

The exam consists in 2 parts and is conducted on the same day.
Part① Written Exam
Part② Tasting Exam/ Short Essay Exam

Questions for the exam are mainly taken out of the English version of J.S.A. SAKE DIPLOMA Textbook<Third Edition> which is newly published in May 2023.

Questions and answers are all in English.

■ Venue

Tokyo and Osaka

The venue will be shown on the admit card delivered to your home address at after the mid-September.

■ Eligibility

You must be 20 years old or above on the day of the exam.
Nationality, occupation, work experience does not matter.

■ Exam fee(tax included)

J.S.A. Member            JPY17,530 (tax of JPY1,594 included)
Non-member of J.S.A. (normal fee)  JPY25,910 (tax of JPY2,355 included)

Non-active member shall pay normal fee.
Membership entrance fee discount is applied if you choose to be a member when applying for the exam.
J.S.A.SAKE DIPLOMA ENGLISH textbook is included in the above fee and will be sent to all applicants.

●Those who have already passed either Part①Written Exam or Part②Short Essay Exam/Tasting Exam can also re-sit for the other part without any time limit. They have up to three chances of taking exams.The re-sit exam fees are as follows.

J.S.A. Member             JPY6,640 (tax of JPY604 included)
Non-member (normal fee)       JPY13,220 (tax of JPY1,202 included)

These fees above don’t include the textbook. If you need the latest version textbook, please purchase one at J.S.A. website.

Upon receipt of the application form, a PayPal invoice will be sent to you by mail.

*Exam fee is non-refundable.

(3)Delivery of the textbook
Once application and payment received, the textbook will be delivered to applicants except for those applying for a re-sit.

(4)Receipt of the Admit card
Admit card and information about the day of the exam will be sent out to you after the mid-September.

■ Result announcement

Exact date to be announced later.
Announcement will be posted on J.S.A. website.
Applicants who have passed successfully the whole or part of the exam will also be notified by e-mail.

■ Certification Process

If you pass successfully the whole exam, there will be an additional registration fee of JPY20,950 (tax of JPY1,905included) in order to be entitled to certification and receive the badge/certificate.
